Merchants Quay office and parking space transformed to green oasis in the City
Sonbrook, the newly formed development firm set up by Cairn Homes co-founder, Kevin Stanley, revealed a glimpse of the style and enterprise it will bring to all its projects with the launch of the Merchants Quay property this month (August 2020). The multi million Euro renovation of the original five riverside office buildings, a café, several courtyard gardens and a multi-storey car park breathes new life into the buildings and common spaces, dramatically improving the shared experience for existing new tenants to enjoy.
“One of our first tasks at Merchants Quay was to revitalise the numerous neglected courtyard spaces positioned throughout the portfolio”, said Kevin Stanley. He went on, “We commissioned extensive hard and soft landscaping to bring much needed greenery to the urban landscape, with all the physical and mental wellbeing benefits associated. These include improved air quality and moderation of temperature, leading to reduced stress, better concentration and higher workplace satisfaction.”
The natural green courtyards are complemented with modern suspended pendant lighting which adds a contemporary character to the entrance courtyard, as well as soft-hued uplighters that pick out the many textures within the planting scheme.
Stanley concluded, “The landscaping initiatives have been warmly welcomed by the 37 tenant companies, employing 450 people and we hope they will contribute to positive workplace experiences that reflect Sonbook’s support for progressive and people-centred corporate cultures.”
